In short

A website QR code is a scannable image that encodes a URL, so a phone camera opens the page without typing. The Website QR Code tool takes any link, such as a shop page, Google Maps listing, menu or catalogue, adds an optional caption, and downloads a print-ready PNG or a scalable SVG in your browser, free and without sign-in.

Static or dynamic?

This is a static QR: the URL is inside the code itself. It never expires and doesn't depend on VyaparKit.

About the website qr code tool

A website QR code links the physical world to a web page. Restaurants put one on the table for the menu, shops print it on bags for their online store, and service businesses add it to visiting cards so a prospect lands on the right page. In India the habit is well established because customers already scan QR codes daily for UPI payments, so a link QR on a poster or invoice feels natural rather than novel.

Typing a long URL on a phone is the fastest way to lose a customer, and shortened links printed on paper are still typed wrong. Online QR sites often generate a redirect through their own server and quietly expire the code or paste ads on it, so the poster you printed stops working months later. This tool encodes your URL directly in the QR with no redirect, no expiry and no tracking, and downloads a clean PNG or SVG for print.

Pair it with the QR Label Sheets tool to print shelf labels that point to product pages, or use the WhatsApp QR when you would rather start a conversation than send people to a site.

How to create a QR code for a website

  1. 1

    Paste the URL

Enter the full address in the Website URL field, including https://. Test the link in a browser first, because the QR will open exactly what you type.

  2. 2

    Add a caption

Type a short line in Caption under QR, such as Scan for menu or Scan to visit our website, so people know why they should scan.

  3. 3

    Choose a colour

Pick one of the colour dots under the preview. Dark codes on white scan best; avoid light colours.

  4. 4

    Download PNG or SVG

Click PNG for flyers, social posts and standees, or SVG for large banners and print vendors who need vector files. Copy data copies the encoded URL.

Checklist before you print a website QR

  • Use the full URL with https:// so every phone camera recognises it as a link
  • Shorter URLs make simpler codes that scan faster from further away
  • Avoid URLs with session tokens or login pages; link to a page that works for anyone
  • Add UTM parameters like ?utm_source=poster if you want to see QR visits in analytics
  • Print with a white quiet zone; the downloaded file already includes the margin
  • Test with at least two phones (Android and iPhone) before ordering a large print run
  • The code encodes the URL directly, so it never expires and cannot be revoked once printed

Who uses the website qr code

Restaurants and cafes

Table tents with a QR to a digital menu hosted on your site or a Google Drive PDF. Update the menu online without reprinting the tents.

Boutiques and D2C brands

Print the QR on packaging inserts pointing to your Shopify or Instagram shop so a one-time buyer becomes a repeat customer.

Coaching centres

Put the QR on notice boards and pamphlets linking to a batch timetable or registration form instead of a long Google Forms URL.

Service businesses

A plumber or electrician adds a QR to visiting cards that opens a Google Business Profile so customers can leave a review.

Website QR Code: frequently asked questions

Does a website QR code expire?
Not when the URL is encoded directly, which is what this tool does. The code works as long as the web page exists. Codes from services that route through their own short links can expire when the service does, so check that before printing.
Can I change the link after printing the QR code?
Not for a direct QR, since the URL is baked into the pattern. If you expect the destination to change, link to a page you control, such as yourshop.com/menu, and update that page instead of the printed code.
Why does a long URL make the QR code look dense?
QR capacity grows with the amount of data, so a 120-character URL with tracking parameters produces many more modules than a 25-character one. Dense codes need larger prints and better lighting to scan. Use a short path or a redirect you control.
PNG or SVG: which format should I download?
PNG is a pixel image and is fine for social media, WhatsApp and prints up to A4. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, so use it for banners, signage and anything a print shop will scale.
Can I track how many people scanned my QR code?
The QR itself does not report scans. Add UTM parameters to the URL, for example ?utm_source=flyer, and read the visits in Google Analytics or your site's stats. This keeps tracking on your own site with no third-party redirect.
