About the rotate pdf tool
Sideways and upside-down pages are a constant problem with scanned Indian paperwork. A landscape invoice fed into a portrait scanner, a phone photo of a cheque taken in the wrong orientation, or a multi-page purchase bill where one page was placed backwards all produce a PDF that the reader has to keep turning. Portals and bank officers do not rotate pages for you, and a KYC upload with a sideways Aadhaar is often rejected.
Rotating in a PDF viewer only changes the view on your screen; the file itself stays wrong and the next person sees the same sideways page. VyaparKit writes the rotation into the PDF. Mixed corrections on the same file are fine: rotate everything by 90 and then click the two pages that need 180.

Tips for a good result
- Clicking a thumbnail rotates that page clockwise by 90 degrees; click again for 180 and 270.
- The 'Rotate all pages' setting and per-page clicks combine, so set the common rotation first and then fix the exceptions.
- Rotation is stored as page metadata, which every PDF viewer, printer and portal respects; content is not re-rendered, so quality is unchanged.
- Rotate before adding page numbers, watermarks or signatures so they land in the right place.
- Encrypted PDFs need their password removed first.

Rotate PDF: frequently asked questions
- Why does my PDF still open sideways after rotating in the viewer?
- Viewer rotation is temporary and only affects your screen. It is not saved into the file, so anyone else who opens it sees the original orientation. Rotate PDF writes the rotation into the page itself, so the file opens correctly for everyone.
- Can I rotate only some pages and leave the rest?
- Yes. Leave 'Rotate all pages' at 0° and click the thumbnails of the pages that need fixing. Each click turns that page by 90 degrees. Pages you do not click are left unchanged.
- Does rotating reduce scan quality?
- No. The page content is untouched; only its rotation attribute changes. Text stays searchable and images keep their full resolution. The file size is essentially the same as before.
- Will a bank or the GST portal accept a rotated PDF?
- Yes. Rotation is a standard part of the PDF format, and portals, browsers and printers all honour it. The page simply displays the right way up. Make sure the file is also within the portal's size limit, usually 5 MB for GST.
- Can I rotate an image before converting it to PDF?
- You can convert it first with JPG to PDF and then rotate the resulting page here. This is often faster than editing the photo on your phone, and the two steps use two of your free monthly operations.
