About the whatsapp qr code tool
A WhatsApp QR code is the fastest way to move a walk-in customer or a print reader into a chat. Scanning it opens WhatsApp with your number already selected and, if you set one, a ready-made message such as Hi, I want to order or Send me the price list. Indian businesses live on WhatsApp for orders, quotes and support, and a QR removes the friction of saving a number first, which many people never get around to.
Handing out a phone number on a flyer means the customer must type it, save it and then find you in WhatsApp; most do not. Numbers written without the country code fail on iPhones, and manually formatted wa.me links are easy to get wrong. Type the 10-digit Indian mobile number in the WhatsApp number field; the tool adds the 91 country code. For a non-Indian number, enter the full international number without the plus sign.

- Do I need WhatsApp Business to use a WhatsApp QR code?
- No. The QR encodes a wa.me link that opens a chat with any number registered on WhatsApp, personal or Business. WhatsApp Business adds a catalogue, quick replies and its own in-app QR, but a link QR from this tool works either way.
- Why must the number include the 91 country code?
- wa.me links only accept numbers in international format without plus signs or leading zeros. A bare 10-digit number is ambiguous to WhatsApp and may open the wrong contact or fail. The tool prefixes 91 automatically when you enter an Indian mobile number.
- Can the customer edit the prefilled message before sending?
- Yes. The text appears in the compose box and the person can change it or delete it entirely before tapping send. Nothing is sent automatically when someone scans the code.
- Will the WhatsApp QR work if the customer does not have WhatsApp installed?
- The link opens the wa.me web page, which prompts them to install WhatsApp or continue in WhatsApp Web on desktop. On a phone without the app, they cannot chat until they install it, so also print your number under the QR.
- Can I use one QR for several staff numbers?
- A single QR opens one number. For a team, use a WhatsApp Business number that several people answer from linked devices, or print separate QRs per department such as Sales and Support with different prefilled messages.
