In short
Address labels are printed stickers with a recipient's name and postal address, used on envelopes, courier bags and invoices posted by mail. The Address Labels tool selects customers from your saved list, accepts extra addresses pasted as text, optionally adds your own address as the first label, and prints them on standard A4 label sheets such as 24 per sheet.

About the address labels tool
Address labels save the daily chore of hand-writing envelopes. Businesses use them to post invoices, statements and cheques, send Diwali gifts and calendars to customers, mail catalogues, and prepare return-address stickers for outgoing parcels. Indian stationery shops sell self-adhesive A4 sheets in 21, 24, 40 and 65 label counts, and a PDF that matches the grid prints on any office printer.
Mail merge in Word needs a clean Excel sheet, a matching label template and patience; most people give up and write by hand, which is slow and error-prone with long Indian addresses and pincodes. This tool reads names and addresses from your saved customers, lets you filter and tick the ones you need, adds any one-off addresses you paste, and generates the sheet in seconds. Tick Include my address as the first label to get a return-address sticker on the same page.
Since customers are shared with your invoices, quotations and ledger, an address updated once is correct on the next invoice, statement and label. Free accounts get 3 label sheets a month across all label tools.
How to print address labels from your customer list
- 1
Select customers
Use Filter customers to search by name or city, then tick the customers you want or click Select all. Clear resets the selection.
- 2
Paste extra addresses
In Extra addresses, type any addresses not in your list, one address per block with a blank line between them: name, street, city and pincode on separate lines.
- 3
Choose the sheet
Select a Label sheet size; 24 per sheet (70x37 mm) fits a typical four-line Indian address. Use 12 or 8 per sheet for longer addresses.
- 4
Add your return address
Tick Include my address as the first label to print your business address from the profile as a sender sticker.
- 5
Generate and print
Check the label count, click Generate label sheet, and print at 100% scale with margins set to none on the matching A4 sheet.
What to put on an address label
- Recipient name, or the firm name followed by the person's name and designation for B2B mail
- Door or plot number, building, street and landmark on the first lines
- Locality, city and state on the next line
- 6-digit PIN code, written clearly; India Post sorts by pincode first
- Mobile number for courier deliveries, since most services call before delivering
- Return address label from your business profile so undelivered mail comes back
- Keep to 5 or 6 lines; the label font scales down for long addresses but very long text becomes hard to read
- Speed Post and registered post also need the sender's address on the envelope

Address Labels: frequently asked questions
- Can I print address labels from an Excel list?
- Paste the addresses into the Extra addresses box with a blank line between each one, and the tool prints them without any upload. For addresses you will use again, add them as saved customers so they are ticked from the list next time and also appear on invoices and statements.
- Which label sheet is best for Indian addresses?
- 24 per sheet (70x37 mm) is the workhorse: it fits a name and four address lines at a readable size. Choose 21 per sheet (63x38 mm) if you have Avery L7160 style stock, 12 per sheet for long addresses with landmarks, and 40 or 65 per sheet for short return-address stickers.
- How do I print a return address on many labels?
- Paste your own address once in Extra addresses and generate; then use QR Label Sheets or simply reprint the same sheet as needed. Alternatively tick Include my address as the first label to get one sender sticker with each batch of customer labels.
- What is the correct way to write a pincode on mail?
- Write the 6-digit PIN on the last line after the city and state, with no spaces or hyphens, for example Bengaluru, Karnataka 560001. The first digit denotes the region and the first three the sorting district, so a correct pincode routes the mail even if the locality is spelt oddly.
- Do the labels include the customer's phone number?
- Labels print the name and billing address from the customer record. If you need the phone on the sticker for courier deliveries, use the Shipping Labels tool, which prints the phone and a tel: QR, or add the number as the last line of a manually pasted address.
